Welcome to FEI Research Group!

Our group works at the intersection of chemistry, soft matter physics, and environmental engineering to develop specially engineered colloidal particles and membranes that address challenges in water, health, and energy. We pursue three broad research goals:

  1. To understand colloidal particle-particle and particle-active matter interactions, both in and out of equilibrium, with the aim of improving water purification and microbial control.
  2. To develop novel methods for characterizing pollutants in complex environmental systems, building on insights from colloidal interactions.
  3. To investigate fluid transport in oil-water separation membranes, integrating surface science to design more efficient and selective membrane materials.
